Every spin teacher I've ever had puts together 4 (maybe 5) lists that they use for several weeks in a row. You might want to make some "go to" playlists for those busy weeks and know that if things get too hectic you have your music covered. Based on the full classes it sounds like your doing something right and I am sure no one would have an issue with repeating a playlist every now and again. All the best....PunkRockRunnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10532411836716339642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13171876.post-2886657269759371132009-03-27T10:24:00.000-07:002009-03-27T10:24:00.000-07:00Teaching spin is TOUGH - a good friend of mine has...Teaching spin is TOUGH - a good friend of mine has done it for the last 7 years and she sometimes gets a bit burnt out.

I just know that your students LOVE you for putting time and effort into it. Taking a spin class is TOUGH (I need to start doing them again), so when you have a great instructor, it makes it all the better! :)

I am intrigued and excited about the trans tahoe swim - I'M IN!!! :)Shanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11226590006329406452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13171876.post-21734044314458528472009-03-26T14:27:00.000-07:002009-03-26T14:27:00.000-07:00I can't imagine how you balance it all and stay sa...I can't imagine how you balance it all and stay sane, quite impressive. Done.

The most important thing is you as the instructor, the energy, presence, and instruction you bring - not the actual workout or music.

I like your song list though.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13171876.post-56780831843390240652009-03-25T22:21:00.000-07:002009-03-25T22:21:00.000-07:00I like that idea of getting lots of play lists don...I like that idea of getting lots of play lists done at at time and then you just have to figure out the workout. If the classes are broken into 'blocks' you could figure out a bunch of different blocks where you could plug them together and make a new class each time but if you have enough blocks you won't get bored nor will your students. Awesome job. I don't know how you do that!rocketpantshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12776035309157277618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13171876.post-62944593105692597692009-03-25T22:08:00.000-07:002009-03-25T22:08:00.000-07:00If you make it to the Pescadero run give me a shou...If you make it to the Pescadero run give me a shout and we can hook up! I used to teach aerobics quite a bit (involuntary shudder) - and it was tough. I had mostly an older clientele who would complain if I switched things up...so I had to keep things simple. I like the idea of planning it out Sunday - maybe make it something fun to do early afternoon/evening? Also - maybe you can have specific classes be for specific things, ie - Monday is long endurance work, Wed is hill repeats... Friday is sprinting... and maybe the music can reflect that? OR... you could just make 15-20 different play lists and switch them around every few weeks... no one would know one play list from another 3 weeks after the fact...right?

Keep up the great work Sarah - I'm really impressed with all the work you do!Marit C-Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06742572497365287990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13171876.post-756660475360608452009-03-25T19:13:00.000-07:002009-03-25T19:13:00.000-07:00Well I think you're nuts for teaching 4 classes in...Well I think you're nuts for teaching 4 classes in the first place, and then extra nuts for making a new playlist for each! ;) If I were you and like dmakin gnew lists each week, I'd at the very least re-use two lists, repeating for the Y and for the airport club. No one will have heard them twice!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
